The Brief
Cucina was imagined as a space that celebrates the poetry of Italian dining. The client wanted more than a restaurant; they wanted a story that would awaken the senses. The brief called for warmth, beauty, and intimacy to coexist with a sense of refinement. Every element needed to feel familiar yet elevated, like returning to a place you’ve never been but somehow remember.
THE APPROACH
We immersed ourselves in the essence of Italian culture, the art, the architecture, the moments that unfold around a table. Inspired by the sensuality of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, we shaped the space to feel both classic and new.
Materials were layered thoughtfully: raw plaster, polished brass, deep timber grains, and gentle light that softens every corner. Each booth was designed to hold conversation. Each curve and surface was meant to invite touch. The branding and interior journey were created hand-in-hand, ensuring the restaurant would tell one seamless story.
THE OUTCOME
The final space breathes nostalgia and sophistication in equal measure. Guests feel enveloped by a quiet elegance that reveals itself slowly, through texture and tone. Cucina is where art and appetite meet. A place that celebrates connection, where food becomes memory, and design becomes part of the experience.
